The Skin I Live In

Spanish film by the prolific director Pedro Almodovar who bought us 'All About My Mother' and Volver to name but two. Described by Almodovar as "a horror story without screams or frights" I can safely say he hit that one right on the head. Worth seeing.

Super 8

A damn good film even if the ending final quarter of the film could have been handled much better, ie the military running out of control. References to other Spielberg films did not annoy though and it was good to spot them, and the little Super 8 film that was shown as the credits rolled was a little joy to watch.

Tree of Life

A very beautiful but at the same time incoherent and rambling film by Terence Malik which left us rather speechless at the end. Camera work was some of the best I have seen as Malik chronicles the origins and meaning of life through a family in 50'sTexas.
At least 6 people walked out within the first quarter of the film but the rewards came for those that were patient.
3/10 to 9/10 Unclassifiable.
