Inception

The hype to this film had passed me by, could not recall a trailer etc, but yet on Friday morning when we were chatting at work about what we were doing over the weekend, at least two of my colleagues said they were going to see it. So whilst it still starred DiCrapio, I went in without any prejudices.
We had joined friends in Lock Fyne next to the cinema beforehand for something to eat, and two bottles of Riesling were consumed in 75 minutes, but did not expect to see the number of people queuing to get in. Fortunately we had sent the girls in first whilst we paid the restaurant bill so good seats were secured.
The film? A load of old tosh.
Its premise is sound, its execution is poor, turning a good idea into a typical Hollywood blockbuster, complete with the endless shootouts, car chases, explosions and a couple of CGI warped perceptions shots. And worse still, the dialogue is completely drowned by incessant film score music.
Ken Russell's Altered States mixed with BBC's Spooks sprang to mind.

5/10
